Goal of the work - to develop new and to improve the existing means of diagnosis of equine viral diseases. Reserch methods - virologic, immunologic, serologic, epizootologic, biochemical. Serologic monitoring of equine respiratory diseases and EIA was carried out annually in Ukraine, the recommendations were given. Circulation of influenza virus strains - A(Equine)(Newmarket)1/93 та A(Equine)(Kentuky)1/81 not registered befor, was revealed among equines. Method for producing active specific sera and ascite fluids - components of the kit for diagnosis of equine influenza - was worked out. Methodical recommendations on the indication of EIA virus antigen using fluorescent antibodies were developed. Micromethod of neutralization test for serological monitoring of equine viral arteritiswas improved. Methods of determination of biochemical indices, representative in diagnosis and control of equine influenza, viral arteritis and EIA, were worked out.
