It's chemical identification was carried out. In order to establish the role of separate chemical groups in displaying of LPS endotoxic activity, in particular, toxicity and pyrogenicity, the modified forms of LPS were obtained. The comparative studies of endotoxic activity of native and modidied LPS showed that both acylic and phosphorylic groups are responsible for toxicity and pyrogenicity.
