For the first time, data about world fauna of hymenolepidoid and dilepidoid cestodes of birds were summarized. New system of hymenolepidoid cestodes was developed and offered. This group is considered as uniform superfamily with six families and 17 subfamilies, and includes 747 species. In Ukraine, 197 species of hymenolepidoid cestodes are found, that is 26,4 % of world fauna and 56 % of European fauna. The role and a place in helminthes circulation inside ecosystems of different groups of vertebrates and invertebrates were investigated. The great role in these processes of reptiles and amphibians was shown for the first time. New data about participation of molluscs and arthropods in helminth circulation were collected. In terrestrial gastropod molluscs, larvae of 10 helminth species were found, at millepedes (for the first time investigated in Ukraine) - 7 species, in insects - 1 species. For the first time, life cycles for 7 of them, parasites of birds and mammals have been deciphered. The opportunity for inclusion of molluscs-invaders into the life cycles of local helminth species was established.
