The purpose of investigation is to prove algorithm of realization and the contents of the basic technological operations of a soil cover mapping for providing of high reliability of its repeated large-scale research. Methods of investigations are comparative-geographical, profile-genetic and analytical. Theoretical and practical results - new approaches to soils' mapping on the basis of use of existing soil materials and the data of remote sounding of a terrestrial surface are proved, the technique of large-scale mapping of a soil cover is advanced. Novelty - creation of maps-versions of a soil cover on the basis of the existing soil data, realization of mapping by decoding the maps-versions. Efficiency - raises accuracy of field investigations on 30-50 %, reduces their cost price in 2 times.
