Vernadsky University popup.description2 For the first time in Ukraine experimental samples of single-mode dual window fiber optic 1х4 and 1х8 couplers have been produced. Distribution of optical power between the output poles of the couplers is equal for light waves of 1310 and 1550 nm. 1х4 and 1х8 couplers have been constructed out of 1х2 dual window couplers in accordance with the cascade model. Dual window couplers mentioned above have also been produced in Ukraine for the first time. 1х2 couplers were produced by fusing and stretching a pair of quartz optical fibers whose lateral surfaces are contiguous with biconical tapered double-wave structure being formed as the result of the process described.
