A subject of this research are techniques of its diagnostics and control. The state-of-the-art review of the literature, theoretical and experimental researches with application of modern approaches to tool-edged machining modelling, registration of acoustic emission, the analysis of the data in real time mode (neural networks are applied), measurement of detail dimensions (optical scanning), systems of quality are executed during carring out of this research. The basic scientific results are in development of methodology and system of tool monitoring with the aim of cutting acoustic emission. It was proofed that cutting acoustic emission always contains two informative frequency bands which can be used for tool monitoring. It was also proofed that an application of an artificial neural network with additional training for cutting modelling and tool state prediction in real time mode is possible. The technique of development of CNC program for milling machine to increase productivity of processing with preservation of the given accuracy is also developed. A practical application of research results allows to increase productivity of work and to reduce quantity of a spoilage due to duly correction of a tool trajectory and duly interruption of machining for replacement of the worn out tool.
