The purpose is selection of new cultivars to be introduced into the production of region. These cultivars must meet the requirements of the market and the modern technologies. The method is the primary strain investigation. New intensive high - productive cultivars of fruit and small fruit crops are absent in orchards and small fruit plantations of the Northern Ukraine. The researches have shown that certain Ukrainian and strawberry cultivars are able to be adapted to the ecological conditions of the Northern - Eastern Ukraine. Early ripening winter - hardy apple cultivars favourable for the intensive technologies have been singled ant taking also into consideration their fruit quality.
