The effect of the melt structure on the melt volume and surface properties as well as the effect of the growth medium structure on the crystallization from the melt has been discussed. The interrelation has been established between capillary characteristics of the solid phase-melt interface, structure of the forming contact interaction zone and the type of the phase diagram. A scheme of the formation of the contact interaction zone in the system with a competitive interaction of the melt components with each other and with a solid phase has been proposed.
