Thymus removal in oldest mice, or neonatal thymus grafting to young or old mice, did not lead to bone density changes. This fact testifies on existence of the thymus immuno-modulating effect on bone remodeling process only in neonatal life period. In human, the higher titer of antibody to DNA in the serum, and positive correlation between T cell concentration in the blood and frequency of bone fracture, were established in osteoporotic women. The high level of T cells in the blood and high titer of antibody to DNA in the serum may be markers or risk factors for bone fracture rise in postmenopausal women.
