Method of breeding: adaptive-ecological selection by combinative ability of the sterile line 1238 of petaloid type. In the result of breeding work there is created a new table carrot variety Nelli, practically resistant to diseases during mother plants storage, with good taste, low content of nitrates, suitable for mechanized yield harvesting. The variety Nelli has the period from sprouts to industrial maturity about 90-100 days, so it is on 10-12 days earlier than the variety-standard Nants'ka Kharkivs'ka and it is on the same level with the standard variety Yaskrava. The total yield in industrial maturity is 38-48 t/ha. In the result of the fulfilled in 2000-2005 years work at the Laboratory of Root and Minor Crops of IVM,UAAS there is created and given to the State variety testing the new table carrot variety Nelli.
