Aim of the work - to increase the gene pool of vegetable and melon crops diversity. On the 1-st of November, 2005 the collection of vegetable and melon crops includes more 6000 variety samples (samples, which are kept at Institute of Vegetables and Melons, UAAS and at Research Stations of the Institute), in all more 60 different crops from 70 countries of the world. At the Institute the collection includes 5516 samples. For five years (2000-2005 there are introduced 1509 collection variety samples. There are given 4006 packet-samples of vegetable and melon crops to different scientific-research institutions and to other laboratories of the Reeding Department of IVM, UAAS for the use in breeding process, study and reproduction during 2000-2005.
