Research object - the continuous casting billet, obtained with casting speeds more than 2 m/min. Purpose of work - determination of mechanism of formation of defects of continuous casting billet and search of methods of prevention this process. Research method - mathematical and physical modelling of processes of forming billet in the mold. Presently the process of billet production on the high-speed continuous casting mashine has a tendency to the rise of requirements for quality of the produced products and providing of stability of this process. One of major tasks in this direction is optimization of processes of heat transfer in the mold. Especially important it becomes at the rise of speed of casting to 4-5 m/min, that leed to unfavorable terms of billet cristallization directly in the mold. That is why, in the given work the analysis of existent defects of billet and analysis of reasons of their origin is executed. The necessity of optimization of process of cristallization of metal is shown in mold with the purpose of upgrading neprerivnolitoy purveyance and stabilization of process of the continuous pouring of steel with speeds more than 2 m/min/mine. Creation of model of prognostication of defects of of high quality continuous casting billet became the result of SRW.
