The research project aims at developing and producing a prototype of the digisonde by using both off-the-shelf and made in this project devices. The research project studies scientific instrumentation used for remotely probing the state of the Erath's bottomside ionosphere. The research project applies methods of testing and simulation. When utilizing off-the-shelf devices, the modular architecture of the digisonde has been proven to be the most preferable. The block diagrams and the electrical circuits that are needed for combining these devices into the digisonde are described. The processing software, control software, and analysis software packages are presented. The results of the project include the prototype of the digisonde whose architecture consists of modules, mostly of off-the-shelf devices that are produced in Ukraine, the manual, and the specifications of the devices made in this project. The results of this projectmay be used to launche the production of digisondes in Ukraine in order to equip telecommunication and radar systems.
