The subject of the research is the process of philological department students' training for family upbringing (on Ukrainian ethno pedagogy material). The Purpose of the research is to describe the conditions and to determine the ways of effective usage of Ukrainian family experience in phililigical department students' training for their professional activities, to substantiate thejretically and to check experimentally forming means of students' preparedness for family upbringing. The methods of the research: theoretical: generalization of philisiphical, psychological pedagogical, historical, linguistic literature on the theme of the research, analysis of concepts, methods, syllabi which are expected to discover ways of solving the problem, empirical: questionnaire, conversations, observation, interviewing, pedagogical experiment (statin, forming). The thesis is devoted to the problem of training philology students' of higher educational pedagogical institutions for family education. Essence and functions of family education have been presented at the angle of philology students' professional training. Conditions and character of modern higher education and family education in Ukraine have been described. Organization and pedagogical conditions of philology students' training for family education have been paid much attention to. The process of getting theoretical knowledge and practical skills has been characterized. Extracurricular activities targeting at family education issues and the dynamics of students' progress have been given.
