The original procedures for the objective estimation of the thermal efficiency characteristics of the combined heat and power generation were worked out using the thermodynamic approach. The typical specific fuel expenditure ranges and the field costs for the heat and power delivery were defined for different types of units. The methodical regulations were worked out, the evaluation of investment attractiveness was executed and the recommendations considering the proper directions of the use of the cogeneration in Ukraine were developed.
