A research object is maintenance of a transport ship. A purpose of work is a revision of existent conception of completing of courts crews, including the aspects of training of personnels, grounds of optimum quantity of crews and rational volume of automation on a ship. A research method is a theoretical analysis of progress of fleet, marine industry, market of labour force in industry of marine transport and marine education trends. Growth of world marine tradeswoman stipulates the steady tendency of multiplying shipping tonnage (in 2005 growth was 7,2 %). The folded chartered market and dynamics of shippings rates is instrumental in multiplying the stake of container fleet and diminishing of stake of courts for transportation of general loads. Multiplying газовозов is forecast. From reduction of fleet Ukraine will be forced out of progressive market of marine transportations. In spite of reduction of crews of ships, there was a deficit of shots of officers on a world fleet. In 2005 he made10 thousands of persons and to 2015 to 27 thousand of persons will be multiplied. Ukraine has possibilities and pre-conditions for saving and strengthening of the positions at the market of labour force of sea-folk. The developed conceptions of courts without crews are actual both in the conditions of growth of tonnage of fleet and in the conditions of deficit of shots of officers. They are supported achieving a technique, by an economic ground and simultaneously allow to work out social problems of fleet. The tendencies marked on a transport fleet require in advance to reconstruct the system of marine education.
