It was shown, that due to the existence of discrete spectrum components with orbital angular momentum, a monochromatic beam under rotation becomes polychromatic with discrete frequency spectrum. The main properties of the light field polarization singularities with non-uniform elliptic polarization were investigated. A new principle of light pulse slowing down without essential changing of its intensity which consists in using photorefractive crystals with two antiphase gratings was proposed. For the first time the provitamine D3 photoisomerization in nematic liquid crystal was investigated, and also the influence of UV radiation on its structure and optical properties was studied with the aid of Stokes polarimetry.
