The directories of investigations concern geological medium barrier propertiesin relation to the following aspects of it's use and protection: underground storages, nearsurface storages, polluted territories management. The retention of fluids mygration has place in geological barriers. Geological barriers include three groups: filtration, geochemical and mechanic. The studies concern barrier properties of three types of geological formations favorable for underground construction: salt, argillaceouse and crystalline. Basing upon theoretical generalization principal models of barrier properties for three types of geological formations have been developed.
