The formation of a transition carbide layer occurs at temperatures above 500 C and the energy of the deposited metal atoms is not enough for the layer formation without the use of the carbon-containing reaction gas. The interaction of diamond grains with a coating of molybdenum and titanium carbides with copper-, cobalt- and iron and nickel-based binders is efficient in the case that the external layer of the coating is of the binder metal. The results of the studies have allowed us to create the science and technology and the instrumental base for the deposition of multilayer and multicomponent coatings onto the diamond crystal surface with the aim to adapt them to the conditions of the abrasive machining.
