It was shown, that maize leaves treated with abscisic acid (ABA) exhibited a sharp increase in levels of inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate within 1-2 minutes. ABA effects and concomitantly decreased levels of 33P-labeled phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate and phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate compared to levels in control leaves tissues.
