A number of new optically active functionalized phosphonic acids and their derivatives were obtained: 2,3-aziridinophosphonates, 2,3-epoxypropylphosphonates, phospho-carnitine, phosphono-GABOB, analogues of natural anticancer compounds phospho-taxoides, etc. The new method of asymmetric reduction of ketones and ketophosphonates by a reagent obtained from sodium borohydride and tartaric acid was developed.
