Purpose of work: receipt of a new information about writing devices with new types of writing knots; establishment of signs which are represented in strokes, by the study of their microstructure; differentiation of writing devices on these signs. Research methods: microscopic, drop analyses. Information about new types of writing devices and structural features of writing knots, types of materials of letter, firms-producers of gel ball-point pens is expounded in work; names of the most widespread pens and their technical descriptions. The microstructure of the strokes, inflicted by ball-point gel pens, ball-shaped pens and capillary handles of different firms, is studied, diagnostic signs, on which it is possible to distinguish them from the strokes of other writing devices, and own signs, are exposed, that allows to identify a writing knot; firmness of inksto action of water and different solvents is studied. Model collection of standards of gel inks which tuck in the bars of handles of different firms-producers is created; blackened for pens capillary handles of different firms-producers.
