The recommendations to optimization of countermeasures for the decrease of effective doses have been developed. Methods of research: gamma-spectrometer, liquid-scintillation, passive track radiometry method, statistical methods. The estimation of summary effective doses due to all irradiation sources for some region and certainly procedure of optimization has been investigated. The methodical recommendations about the estimation of irradiation effective doses for public from technically increased natural sources have been designed. The project of the supplement to "Ukrainian Radiation Safety Standard" (UNRB-97) about radiation protection of the public in situations of prolonged exposure have been developed.
