The main purpose of the work is the research of the problems of the formation of Poly-ethnic population of the Crimea from antiquity till the present time, revealing of historic regularities, common and isolated instances in the process of forming Crimean society at various historic stages. In 2004-2006 within the programme of the theme the researchers of the Crimean Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies published 3 monographs, 4 parts in collective monographs and 143 scientific publications (including 37 in foreign publications); they participated in the work of 28 regional and international conferences, including foreign ones (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Paris, Berlin, London). The obtained results will be undoubtedly used in the subsequent scientific investigations, as well as in popular scientific and educational literature.
