At the test at corrosion potential and anodic polarization the threshold level Kth.is increased and crack growth in prethreshold region is decreased due to corrosion crack tip blunting and, correspondingly, stress relaxation. Additions of chlorides, which intensify local corrosion of steel, do not effect on the parameters of corrosion fatigue crack growth. A sensitivity of pipe steel to corrosion-fatigue fracture by the mechanism of hydrogen embrittlement is increased with stress ration rising. In-service steel degradation intensifies its corrosion-fatigue fracture by the mechanism of hydrogen embrittlement. Effect of degradation is increased with stress ratio rising.
