Studies were carried out in the period from November 2004 to December 2005 at 107 complex stations (marine - 81, river -26). The 56 periphyton samples were taken in this area, including hydrotechnical constructions and navigation buoys in the Bistriy estuary and Ust-Dunaisk port. Quantitative data has been received on the hydrological regime, the state of the aquatic environment and bottom sediments, their biogenic matter, heavy metal and oil content. An analysis has been made of seasonal changes in the biota of aquatic ecosystems as: bacteria, phyto - and zooplankton, phytoperiphyton, meio- and macrozoobenthos.
