Objective - gaining insight into molecular mechanisms inderlying the effects of electromagnetic fields on biological objects. The methods of investigation - biophysical, biochemical, radiophysical, and mathematical. The literature review on the modern concepts for the influence of radiofrequency electromagnetic fields on bioobjects differing in the level of structural organization. is given. Human blood erythrocytes, model lipid and protein -lipid membranes have been irradiated with electromagnetic fields of ultra high frequency (UHF). Fluorescent probe technique has provided evidence for the alterations in membrane structural state and physical parameters upon irradiation. A strong correlation between membrane sensitivity to electromagnetic fields and lipid bilayer composition has been established. UHF radiation has been found to exert no significant influence on hemosome stability, while having simulating effect on hemoglobin binding to the model lipid membranes. Biological responses to electromagnetic fields have been suppressed by chlorpromazine. Hemolytic stability of erythrocytes exposed to UHF radiation has undergone minor changes.
