Object under investigation: ores and Ukrainian metallurgical industry waste. Aim of the Work: working out of scientific fundamentals and development on their basis of new technologies for the extraction of nonferrous, rare and noble metals and their compounds from mineral raw materials and Ukrainian metallurgical industry waste at low specific consumption of reagents and energy. Methods of investigation: chemical, differential thermal, atomic-absorption and X-ray phase analyses, voltammetry, spectrophotometry, autoclave processes. Results of investigations to develop processes for the extraction of metals and their compounds from various waste products (solution for processing alumina-containing raw materials, gold-containing raw materials of the deposit of nonferrous metals at Muzhiyivsk, titanium dioxide and semiconductor equipment production waste, sublimates of filter-ventilator unitsof furnaces for processing secondary lead, multicomponent alloys) and mineral raw materials (lithium are of the deposit at Polokhovsk, copper-cobalt ore) are presented. The specialized design office of the Institute and Pilot Plant have worked out technical documents and made experimental equipment (electrolyzers, autoclaves) to realize the designs developed. The results of the research have been tested on a pilot scale. The proposed developments can be brought to a commercial level after appropriate updating on a commercial scale at nonferrous metallurgy plants.
