RAPD-analysis of individual plants as well as callus tissues from inbred maize line P346 and derived from it somaclonal lines with enhanced regeneration potential was carried out. PCR-fragments common for most somaclones but not for P346 line, that remained stable in the tissue culture in vitro, were found. It is proposed that these fragments can be used as a markers for increased regeneration capacity in maize.
