Output discharge patterns were compared in response to tonic synaptic excitation homogeneously distributed over the dendrites. It was found that the richness of repertoire of the discharge patterns is related to complexity and metrical asymmetry of the dendritic arborization and changes with intensity of tonic excitation. Simple patterns were generated with synaptic conductance in low and high ranges, whereas complex multiple patterns required medium intensities. Spatial signatures of the simple patterns were similar electrical states of asymmetrical dendritic subtrees, whereas those of the complex patterns were combinations of different states of the subtrees.
