Goal of research - to estimate existing in Ukraine feeding standards and systems of feeding of dairy and beef cattle, to provide experimental and analytical background for development of the new criteria of nutrition and feed energy values, relation between dry matter intake and energy density of the ration, its nutritional value for high yielding cattle. Methods of research - zootechnical, biochemical, analytical. Results of research - on the basis of results of conducted research and analysis of existing standards, it has been developed the new approaches to nutritional standards and feeding systems of high yieldingcattle. It has been proved, that balanced feeding of replacement cattle, which provides for high growth rates, proper development, optimal age, size and live weight at first insemination and calving are the key elements of sustainable development of dairy and beef cattle farming allowing maximal realization of genetic potential of an animal. It has been shown effectiveness of feeding high yielding dairy cattle with total mixed rations. Field of utilization is agriculture and more specific the animal husbandry.
