The purpose of work: to develop methodical recommendations for protection of crops of corn from the western corn rootworm in territory of Ukraine. Methods of stooly: field and laboratory. Results: inspections are carried out(spent) in 13 areas of the Zakarpatye area on the area 14000 ha. Features of biology Diabrotica virgifera are established. Settling all low part by the wrecker is confirmed. Adult are registered in 12 areas of the Lvov area and on border with Poland. It is established, that reduction of number of the bug is influenced positively with a crop rotation and autumn plowing with a revolution of a layer. Intensive years of bugs comes on the end of the third decade of July - the first decade of August and proceeds about 10 days. The circuit of realization of monitoring on revealing of the western corn rootworm in agrocenoses is developed; substances for manufacturing feromons are found and synthesized; researches of their efficiency in constant centers Diabrotica virgifera are carried out(spent).
