The EU-25 is the largest partner for Ukraine in commodity trade despite the sub-optimal market access that Ukrainian goods have to this largest among neighboring markets. Nowadays the most important issue in economic relations with the EU-25 is the establishment of free trade area. The study once again confirmed the significance of the EU-25 as Ukraine’s trade partner and showed clear positive impact of the free trade area establishment on Ukraine’s economy. To maximize the positive effect, it is important to sign the extended free trade area agreement that includes both the reduction of non-tariff barriers in commodity trade and eases the regulatory burden on service trade.
