The purpose of the research is a complex analysis of the banking sector development and its functioning in the industrial sector of Kharkiv region. Achievement of the purpose foresaw solving a number of tasks: 1.To determine the influence of macroeconomic environment upon functioning of the banking sector in Kharkiv region. 2. To characterize parameters of macroeconomic development of Ukraine and peculiarities of economic development of Kharkiv region. 3. To outline conditions of effective functioning of the banking sector of Kharkiv region. 4. To analyse the contemporary state and problems of the banking sector development in Kharkiv region. 5. To formulate recommendations concerning priority and strategic perspectives of the development of banks in Kharkiv region. In order to solve given tasks a system of research methods was used , namely : general scientific methods : analysis and synthesis (to substantiate theoretical principles and practical recommendations) ; system and complex analysis; analytical methods : comparative and economic analysis, method of factor analysis, method of economic modeling ,statistic methods , method of regressive analysis. Practical importance of the results achieved consists in applying theoretical and methodological generalizations and conclusions to forming and functioning of the regional banking sector, intensification of the society reproduction processes . To the main results of the paper that have the greatest practical importance and elements of scientific novelty are as follows : definition of the essence of the macroeconomic environment’s influence upon functioning of the banking sector of Kharkiv region; peculiarities of the economic regional development ;analysis of the contemporary state and problems of regional banking sector development and recommendations concerning priority and strategic perspectives of Kharkiv regional banks’ development. The research is conducted within the framework of United thematic plan of scientific research of the National bank of Ukraine for 2005.
