Aim: to study the thyroid cancer incidence in different ages groups (at the moment of accident and at the moment of operation) among the exposed children and adolescents, and morphological characteristics of thyroid tumors on the base of updated register of clinical-morphological data in the Institute. Methods: statistical, pathomorphological, soft ware. Results and their novelty: After Chernobyl accident in Ukraine from 1990y. the increasing of thyroid cancer incidence among cohort of 0-18 years old was observed. The group of maximal risk – children exposed up to 5 years old – was determined. The majority of thyroid cancer was papillary carcinoma. Thyroid papillary carcinomas were characterized by morphological changes according the time after accident. The most aggressive thyroid papillary carcinomas were observed in children 4-14 years old, which were operated in 19990-1995 yy., so with short latency period.
