It was shown, that the processing by pulse plasma streams of different armour materials results in considerable improvement of them tribological property on account of formation of a near-surface modified layer. One of main factors, which one influences formation of a modified layer, is presence of high temperature gradients in near-surface layers during interaction of plasma streams with materials
