Deoiling is done to prepare the surface of the band for the following applying of a thin layer of tin on it. The necessity of the work is called forth by the removal of a highly toxic fourchlorous carbon from the production. The developed oil depriving composition makes it possible to replace fourchlorous carbon without changing the technology of deoiling a brass band. The work also includes the results of patent research and considers familiar formulae on the basis of which a new deoiling formula unyielding to the fourchlorous carbon was worked out.
