It was shown the possibility of Streptomycetes to synthesize de novo genistein-like substance restoring the biosynthesis of landomycin E in some mutants. It was revealed the positive action of genistein on the biosynthesis of landomycin E and other polyketide antibiotics of Streptomycetes. Lycopine was identified in red mutants its output was constituted 2 mg/g of dry biomass. It was shown the weak mutagenic and high antitumor activity of landomycin E in vitro. The cloned fragment of chromosome containing the lndE genes increased production of landomycin E to 20% in comparison with initial strain.
