Aim of the work - definition the scheme of winter garlic planting with the use of mulch material and exception of mechanized operations on care of plants from the technological process. The work has been carried out for the period 2003-2005. Methods of investigations - laboratory-field ones. In the results of investigations it was determined that schemes of planting had not influenced passing of phenological phases of winter garlic development. Against the background of the increase of plants put: quantity per 1 ha the area of leaf surface increased, Weediness of garlic plantings depended significally on mulching. The highest yield (7,7-8,9 t/ha) of garlic was obtained on thickened band schemes that topped the control variant with mulch by 0,6-2,2 t/ha and the control without mulching - by 1,8-3,7 t/ha.
