The analysis of normative documents has shown that in this system is absent the document, which could prescribe definitely the general terms and conditions for image and legend of fastening parts in the process of development of working documentation for construction metalwork. The implementation of Standards СТ СЭВ 4722-84 was considered as an attempt to solve this problem, but this approach was not widely used. This is because of its super saturation by a great number of symbols, which are not applied in the design practice. Conclusion.
