The objective of work - drafting the order on revaluation of fixed assets of the communal unitary enterprises which provide housing and communal services; scientific substantiation of tasks and a technique of the revaluation and of reflecting the results of it in the Register of communal property of a city, village, settlement. The order aims at harmonizing the balance (residual) cost of the fixed assets of the municipal property with their fair cost and at assuring control for preservation and effective use of communal property complexes. The research methodology is based on a dialectic method of scientific knowledge concerning studying the modern state of legislation that deals with communal property management. The substantiation of the results of the research is based on the following methods: observation, system analysis and synthesis,an induction and deduction, abstraction and a concrete definition, analogy and comparison, grouping method etc. The economic and legal characteristic of the concepts of "revaluation", "evaluation" was given in the work. The legislation of Ukraine concerning evaluation and revaluation of communal property was examined, in order to determine organizational and legal basis for conducting evaluation and revaluation in the housing and communal services sphere.
