It's a main cause of higher operating pressure, more frequent chemical cleanings, shortened membrane life, and decreasing water quality. The main aim of this project was developing method of immobilization natural bactericidal agents - chitosane on surface of polymer ultrafiltration membranes. It's a natural biopolysaccharide derived from chitin. Chitosane isn't toxic and allergenic, moreover it can be destructed in humane body. The purpose of membrane modification was investigation different characteristics such as bactericidal and transport parameters, after chitosane immobilization on different membrane surfaces. Modification and research was made for cellulose, acetate cellulose and polyethylentereftalate membranes with different pore sizes.
