Methods of the research is analytical review of driving the horizontal (incline up to 120) mine workings as well as their parameters and indices of drilling-and-blasting operations in the practices of the enterprises operating the uranium ore deposits mining in Ukraine and other countries of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Results of the research contain analysis of geomechanical, mining-and-geological, hydrogeological and mining-and-technical conditions of driving the mine workings, parameters and indices of drilling-and-blasting operations when mine workings are driven, types of explosives and safe systems of exploding charge initiation, selection of self-propelled drilling and load-haul-dump equipment for driving the mine workings, section of the workings, box cuts and standard descriptor of drilling-and-blasting operations for driving the mine workings. It has been established that geomechanical conditions of Novokostyantynivskeh deposit are suitable for driving the mine workings by drilling-and-blasting in very rigid rock solids (rigidity factor under Protodyakonov scale f=14-20), with extremely considerable specific consumption of explosives for rock mass breaking (up to 4.0 kg/cub.m). Scientific novelty - initial parameters of drilling-and-blasting operations are specified from the geomechanical conditions and, on this basis, the variants of box cuts are developed with compensation volume in the cut that is sufficient for qualitative breaking of rock mass in the stope (when compensation volume factor is at least 1.34). Drilling-and-blasting technology has been developed for driving horizontal (incline up to 120) mine workings fordrift over the cycle up to 3.5 m that increases driving speed up to 350 m/month (currently, in the mines of State Enterprise "Eastern Mining and Concentration Combined Works" ("VostGOK"), driving speed for the workings mentioned is 60 to 70 m/month). Social importance - increase in mine workings driving speed up to 350 m/month using highperformance self-propelled drilling and load-haul-dump equipment makes it possible to shorten period of Novokostyantynivskeh deposit being put into operation that could give 2 000 to 3 000 jobs, in the first place, for the population of Kirovograd region. Results of the research effort will be used during development, designing and construction of the mine of NE "Site Management" with potential of increase in an annual ore mass output up to 2.5 million tonnes.
