Research object - polished diamonds for jewellery, market price indices for polished diamonds. Purpose - elaboration and publication of updated price indices for polished diamonds to be applied in examination and evaluation of stones of the State Fund of the Precious Metals and Precious Stones of Ukraine, for tax, custom purposes, as well as for reference information on market prices. Research methods - expert appraisal, market monitoring, comparative, mathematic methods. Results are presented in the tables and accounting price indices as explanations to show average market price for polished diamonds; these indices are may be applied as a basis for other kinds of value (liquidation, buying, etc.) with correspondent discounts or extra charges. Implementation level - the accounting price indices for polished diamonds are given for publication in the Precious and Decorative Stones magazine (Draft Issue 3, September, 2007) and recommended for expert work of staff and accredited workers of the SGCU, State Custom Service of Ukraine, State Storehouse for the Precious Metals and Precious Stones of Ukraine, other interested institutions and persons.
