Yanovsky popup.description2 With the objective to develop an optimal scheme of diagnostic, treatment and prophylaxis of the infectious exacerbation (IE) of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), were observed 162 patients with COPD, 116 bacterial isolates, 40 viral. It was defined that in 69,8 % patients the IE COPD were caused by bacterial pathogens, in 15,9 % - by viral, and in 14,3 % - by their associations. Combined antibacterial and base therapy of IE COPD with arbidol or spirulina was due to increase of efficiency of treatment on 30,0% and to decrease IE duration on 4 days. Prophylactic application of arbidol was due to reduce frequency of IE COPD on 18,8 % and to decrease the severity of it's course.
