The aim of regarding was to analyze the world's experience of professional selection's organization in different branches of economic activity and to determine the appropriate methods of evaluation of railway transport operators' professional qualities using locomotive operators as example. A number of methods of professional selection, combined with procedures of prerun control, which are able to show the objective information about the functional reliability's level of locomotive crew's workers were proposed.
