Aim of the research is determination of boundary between Archean and Proterozoic in different regions of the Ukrainian shield by means of determination of isotopic ages of crystalline rocks of Early Precambrian of the Ukrainian shield and their structural relationships. Methods of investigation and U-Pb isotopic dating of accessory zircon and structural-paragenetic analyses. In course of U-Pb geochronological investigation of accessory zircon and monazite separated from Precambrian rocks of the Ukrainian shield that was carried out at the IGMOF of the NAS of Ukraine and of structural analyses new geochronological and geodynamical data obtained. These serve as a basis for definition of boundary between Archean and Proterozoic. It is shown that stabilization of the main regions of the shield occurred at 2.8-2.6 Ga that could be accepted as a boundary between Archean and Proterozoic. At ca. 2.0 Ga some regions of the shield experienced repeated activation. Rocks formed at mentioned time intervals host prevail majority. Obtained results can be used for more precise definition of the chronostraticraphic chart of the Ukrainian shield and for improvement of the work of geological enterprises of the Department of geology of Ukraine.
