Research object - thermoelectric generators (ТЕG) and independent gas heating systems with thermal generators. The purpose of the work is creation of thermoelectric power sources for independent gas heating and hot water supply systems; expansion of the opportunities for creation and introduction of heating sources of new generation on natural or liquefied gas, to achieve the increased efficiency of heating systems and minimize environmental pollution. Research methods: methods of mathematical physics, thermodynamics of irreversible processes, methods of computer simulation and design of thermal generators, physical methods of experimental investigation. On the basis of comprehensive computer investigation and thermal generator optimization, optimal constructions of two variants of generators for heating systems have been found. It has been established that with equal heat source power, the double-sided variant of TEG is more efficient compared to the single-sided. With the best choice of parameters, the efficiency of the double-sided variant is 4.5 %, of the single-sided - 4.2 %. Optimal geometric parameters of sectional convective heat exchangers have been found, to achieve maximum efficiency of heat transfer to modules and minimum temperature gradіent between the sections. Optimal ratios between the areas of heat absorbing surfaces of generator sections (S2/S1, S3/S2) with efficient heat exchange coefficients 10-14 W/m2·К lie within 2.0-2.2. A new type of independent gas-fueled heating sources has been developed providing a more complete fuel combustion and minimization of environmental pollution. The results of scientific and technical project are introduced in the production of КОГВ-11,5 boilers ("Teplodar" Ltd).
