Obtaining of new data on regularities of wear of steels and alloys at different velocities of sliding against abrasive surface is the goal of work. The outcome of work in 2007 was the determining of laws for resistance of iron-carbon alloys to wear process at different speed of sliding against abrasive surface. The diagram " Relative wear (i) - Speed (v) " for different type of a metal base of alloys of system Fe-C is proposed. Maximum wear of ferrite samples in a range of speeds from 0,1 mm/s up to 3,5 mm/s is observed at speed 1,0 mm/s. The increase of speed from 3,5 mm/s up to 86 mm/s results in essential reduction of wear. Increase of speed up to 86 mm/s leads to reduction of wear approximately on 10 %. Therefore all range of speeds at a level of millimeters per second is extreme for ferrite structure, as at such speeds wear of ferrite reaches a maximum. Dependence i = f (v) for martensite (steel У8, quenching on maximal hardness) shows, that the maximal wear for martensite structure appears at speed 0,5 mm/s. At the same time, the increase of sliding speed in a very wide range - from 1,0 mm/s up to 86 mm/s practically does not result in essential changes of wear of martensite samples. The similar conclusions are made by test results of austenite samples (alloy containing 2,1 %C, quenching of single-phase area). The difference consists only that the maximal wear of austenite structure is observed at 1,0 mm/s. If speed changes in a range from 1,0 mm/s up to 86 mm/s wear of austenite samples decreases insignificantly. Utilization area - machine building industry.
