Experimental and theoretical studies of the plasma-chemical processes in barrier discharges at atmospheric pressure, as well as the studies of the processes in electronegative plasma of hollow cathode discharge, are accomplished. The reasons which determine maximum focusing ability of plasma lens (PL) are found. It is shown that the beam passed through the PL practically does not experience degradation of its quality. For the first time, forming of large scale electron bunches-vortices in plasma medium of the lens is demonstrated. The model of current transfer in cylindrical gas discharge of magnetron type is proposed.
